Hough Graduate School of Business ranks in top 15 among U.S. publics

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Hough Graduate School of Business at the Warrington College of Business Administration ranked 15th among U.S. public business schools in U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Graduate Schools 2014” edition released Tuesday.

The UF MBA Traditional Program at the Hough Graduate School of Business improved four places to achieve its No. 15 ranking among U.S. publics, and climbed eight spots to 36th overall among both public and private institutions. UF MBA was ranked 24th overall and 15th among U.S. publics for their Part-Time programs, which include the Professional Two-Year, Professional One-Year and the Professional MBA in South Florida.

Further solidifying itself as the state’s elite academic business institution, the Hough Graduate School of Business was the only graduate business school in Florida ranked in the top 90 overall.

UF MBA’s Traditional full-time program was again honored for blending talented students with one of the nation’s best values. UF MBA students had the fourth-highest average undergraduate GPA (3.46) and fifth-highest GMAT scores (695) among public programs in the overall top 50. Additionally, UF MBA’s Traditional program had the fourth-lowest out-of-state tuition and fees ($30,983) among all schools ranked in the overall top 50.

The Hough Graduate School of Business also ranked 18th overall (tied) and eighth among U.S. publics (tied) in the Marketing specialty category based on the strength of our faculty’s peer assessment.

U.S. News & World Report surveyed deans and MBA directors of 448 master’s business programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International) and corporate recruiters who previously hired MBA graduates from ranked programs.

Additionally, the rankings measured Placement Success (average starting salary and bonus, employed at time of graduation, employed three months after graduation) and Student Selectivity (average GMAT and GRE scores, average undergraduate GPA and proportion of applicants accepted by school).
