Rossi, Tapley among Warrington faculty honored

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Professors William Rossi and Craig Tapley were among those honored by the Warrington College of Business Administration as the College announced the winners of its 2010-11 Teaching/Advising Awards.

“There were a number of excellent nominees for all awards so choosing the winners was challenging,” said Dr. S. Selcuk Erenguc, Associate Dean & Director of the Hough Graduate School of Business. “The College is fortunate to have such a pervasive level of excellence in its teaching and advising activity.”

Rossi and Tapley were named Teachers of the Year. Professor Rossi is the Program Director of the Master of Science in Entrepreneurship (The Thomas S. Johnson Program) and is a Lecturer within the College. Dr. Tapley is a Graham-Buffet Master Lecturer of Finance and has been at the University of Florida since 1981.

Dr. Larry DiMatteo and Dr. Douglas Waldo were both honored with the inaugural Graduate/Professional Teacher of the Year award. Dr. DiMatteo, the Huber Hurst Professor of Contract Law and Legal Studies, specializes in contract law and international business law and was recently honored with a senior research award in his name by the Southeastern Academy of Legal Studies in Business. Dr. Waldo is an associate professor who teaches courses in macroeconomic theory and international macroeconomics.

Derek Guffin was also named Advisor of the Year. Guffin is an academic advisor in the School of Business specializing in Finance and Information Systems majors.
