U.S. News & World Report #4 Online MBA

US News ranks UF MBA Online Program among the nation’s top five

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – UF MBA’s Online Program again ranked among the nation’s top five in U.S. News & World Report’s “2016 Best Online Programs” rankings released Tuesday.

UF MBA’s Online Program ranked fourth in the country, and scored 92 out of a possible 100 points. UF MBA was just one of five schools—out of 221 ranked by U.S. News—to score more than 90 points.

U.S. News sent statistical questionnaires to more than 200 regionally accredited business schools offering online MBAs, and based its rankings on five weighted categories: Student Engagement (28 percent), Admissions Selectivity (25%), Peer Reputation (25%), Faculty Credentials & Training (11%) and Student Services & Technology (11%).

“We’re extremely pleased to be recognized as one of the nation’s top online MBA programs, especially considering the comprehensive measures U.S. News uses in generating these rankings,” said Dr. Alex Sevilla, Assistant Dean and Director of UF MBA Programs. “We pride ourselves on providing our talented online students with a rich, immersive and transformational MBA experience, and this recognition validates our efforts.”

UF MBA ranked especially well in Admissions Selectivity—placing fifth among all U.S. MBA programs. In the Admissions Selectivity category, U.S. News measured students’ standardized test scores (GMAT/GRE), work experience, undergraduate GPA, and a program’s acceptance rate. Those measures have a direct correlation to a program’s student quality—a hallmark at UF MBA.

“A major reason we’ve remained at the top of national and international rankings is our dedication to admitting high-caliber students,” Dr. Sevilla said. “Fostering a competitive, but collaborative environment where talented students are driven to succeed is critical to our success.”

In addition to U.S. News, UF MBA’s Online Program has been celebrated by other elite business publications this past year. The Financial Times ranked UF MBA No. 3 in the world and No. 1 in the U.S. in its “Online MBA 2015” rankings, and The Princeton Review placed UF MBA sixth in its inaugural “Top Online MBA Programs 2015.”

The Hough Graduate School of Business has been one of the nation’s leaders in online graduate education, and was one of the first schools to have an accredited online MBA program. UF MBA offers nine dynamic programs, including a 1-Year Online and 2-Year Online option. The 1-Year option is a 16-month accelerated program for business degree majors who graduated within the last seven years. The 2-Year option is a 27-month program open to any undergraduate degree major.
