Kaufman, Rossin & Company donate $50,000 to Fisher School of Accounting

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Kaufman, Rossin & Company have pledged $50,000 to the Fisher School of Accounting at the University of Florida in honor of firm founders and managing principles James R. Kaufman (BSBA ‘57) and Jay H. Rossin (BSBA ‘55). Founding the company in 1962, Fisher School alumni Jim and Jay set out to create a dynamic, young and innovative firm. Along the way, they built one of the largest (Top 100) CPA firms in the country, employing numerous UF alumni. The University of Florida and the Fisher School of Accounting are proud to announce the firm’s gift.

The gift establishes an endowment to support teaching, research and programs in the Fisher School of Accounting, in which approximately 900 students are currently enrolled. In appreciation of the gift, the Fisher School recognizes the firm by naming a study area in its honor. A plaque bearing the name of Kaufman, Rossin & Company will identify the student breakout room in Gerson Hall. Gerson Hall, the home of the School and its faculty, is the first academic facility in the country built solely to house a school of accounting.
