DiMatteo awarded Fulbright Scholar Professorship
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Huber Hurst Professor of Contract Law & Legal Studies Dr. Larry A. DiMatteo was awarded a Fulbright Scholar Professorship.
The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. The stated purpose of the Fulbright Scholars Program is to “increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries.”
Professor DiMatteo will be hosted by a university in Sofia, Bulgaria for three months during the summer of 2012 where he will conduct research, consult and possibly teach.
Included in the Award is an invitation to the two-week Fulbright International Summer Institute at the mountain resort of Bansko located at the foot of the Pirin Mountains in Bulgaria on August 8-20, 2011. Professor DiMatteo did not apply for the Award, but was specifically asked to take the Award without application stating “it really makes you feel wanted and that there is a real need there for my area of expertise.”
Dr. DiMatteo has been a professor at Warrington since 1999. He previously instructed at the University of Miami. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University at Buffalo, Juris Doctorate from Cornell University, Masters of Law from Harvard University, and a Ph.D. in Business and Commercial Law from Monash University in Australia.
