Heavener students excel at Phi Beta Lambda national conference

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Shuyun Xue, a junior Management major at the Heavener School of Business, was elected national Secretary of Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda for the 2012-13 term during the organization’s National Leadership Conference on June 24-28 in San Antonio.

Xue will serve on Phi Beta Lambda’s Executive Council and manage communications between the national organization and its state chapters. Xue will visit Phi Beta Lambda’s national headquarters in Reston, Virginia, to undergo training in late July.

In addition, three UF students—including two Heavener students—finished in the top 10 in five events during the conference’s Awards of Excellence program. Eric Konkol-Bennett, a junior Electrical & Computer Engineering major, won the Computer Concepts event and placed fifth in Help Desk. Claudison Azard, a senior Marketing major, finished fourth in Marketing Concepts and eighth in Management Concepts. Jackie Campuzano, who graduated this past spring with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Information Systems and Operations Management), placed eighth in Information Management.
