Ling honored with George Bloom Service Award
McGurn Professor of Real Estate Dr. David C. Ling was awarded the George Bloom Service Award by The American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association (AREUEA) during its annual meeting earlier this month in Denver.
The Bloom Award is presented annually to a member “in recognition of their distinguished service to the Association during his or her career.”
The Bloom Award is not the only major award Dr. Ling has recently received. In April 2010, Ling received the David Ricardo Medal from the American Real Estate Society, the highest recognition by the ARES for scholarly work in the real estate discipline.
Dr. Ling teaches courses in commercial real estate finance and investment at the graduate level and serves as Director of the Master of Science in Real Estate (MSRE) program. His academic and professional publications have included articles on housing policy and economics, mortgage markets and pricing, private commercial real estate investments, publicly traded real estate companies, and performance evaluation.
Dr. Ling has provided research and consulting services to several state and national organizations including the Federal National Mortgage Association, the National Association of Home Builders, the National Association of Realtors, and the Florida Association of Realtors.
