Warrington quintet are recipients of UF International Center’s Outstanding Student Awards

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Warrington College of Business Administration students Aurora Cano-Choque, Yue “George” Hou, Xiaojiong “John” Li, Li Miao and Weili “Hillary” Wang were recipients of the 2013 Outstanding Student Award from the UF International Center.

The Outstanding International Student Awards recognize the accomplishments of UF international students who not only meet exemplary academic achievement, but also a wide of range of accomplishments and contributions.

Additionally, Cano-Choque was one of two UF students to receive the Diane Fisher Service Scholarship, which was named in honor of the International Center’s former Document Specialist who passed away in October 2003. The award acknowledges international students who show exemplary service to the University of Florida and to the Gainesville community. Cano-Choque, a native of Peru who has studied at the Red Cross Nordic United World College in Norway, has organized an all-day event for 200 high school students as a member of the Freshmen Leadership Council, contributed to the 2013 Great American Clean Up with the Florida Leadership Academy, participated with Gator Global Educators, in which she coordinates international students and creates lesson plans taught to students at Howard W. Bishop Middle School and also works with the International Business Society.
