Adam Mopsick (BSBA ’93) | July 2019
Mopsick (BSBA 1993) is Partner and Co-Founder of Amicon Construction. He has over 25 years of experience in the construction and real estate industry, dating back to his teenage days as a laborer. After earning an undergraduate degree in finance from the University of Florida, he gained valuable knowledge and experience building luxury custom homes for award winning firm, Brookman-Fels. In 1996, at the age of 24, the lure of entrepreneurship led Mopsick to form his own construction company. This became the foundation for teaming up with Ross Adickman to form Amicon Construction. Their vision was to create a boutique company focusing on a superior client experience and unique corporate culture based on integrity, work ethic and a team-oriented spirit. Amicon’s commitment was to attract and train staff who understand superior construction techniques and advanced project management technologies while focusing primarily on client satisfaction. Under Mopsick’s innovative leadership, Amicon has earned the confidence of a growing portfolio of prestigious local, and international clients. Today, Amicon Construction is consistently recognized as the market leader for premier general contracting services and construction management in South Florida.
In 2005, Mopsick recognized a void in the marketplace for quality client representation services. Amicon Management was formed to protect clients’ interests and maximize value in all of their construction and real estate ventures. Mopsick’s roles as CEO and the Director of Amicon’s Owner Representation division, provide him with a unique vantage point and a comprehensive view of the industry. This perspective, in part, fuels his vision for Amicon.
Mopsick is a LEED-accredited, licensed State of Florida General Contractor. His client-driven approach and his commitment to professionalism, communication and precision define Amicon’s corporate culture.
In 2010, Mopsick and his wife, Helen, co-founded SeeFit, a fitness-based series of fundraising events that benefit the Vision for Tomorrow Foundation, an organization that underwrites ocular research and aids visually-impaired children and their families. A fitness enthusiast with a long history of competing in Ironman Triathlons and other endurance events, Mopsick is a certified CrossFit and CrossFit Kids instructor. He also enjoys lower-impact outdoor sports, namely fly-fishing, boating and horseback riding. Mopsick lives with his wife and their three sons in Miami Beach.
Mopsick is member of Young Presidents Organization (YPO Miami) and a graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business program. He is also a member of StartUp FIU mentoring young entrepreneurs.
