Lorna E. Brown-Burton

Brown-Burton (BSBA 1984) joined Ft. Lauderdale-based law firm Lubell Rosen as a partner. Her primary area of practice is workers’ compensation defense, having represented employers, self-insureds and carriers for 30 years. Brown-Burton also has experience in the area of labor and employment and social security disability. She is a member of the Workers’ Compensation Section of The Florida Bar, and is a 17th Circuit Board of Governors representative for The Florida Bar. Additionally, she is a past adjunct professor at Broward College in the paralegal degree program.

Brown-Burton was recognized for her achievements in Florida Trend magazine as a Florida Elite in the area of Workers’ Compensation in 2018. In addition, she was recognized by Legacy Magazine as one of “50 Most Powerful and Influential Leaders of 2016,” “Who’s Who in Black South Florida” in 2007 and 2009, and has earned many more accolades.
