Transfer Student Spotlight: Carolyn Kosuch
Carolyn Kosuch is a current student in the MS Marketing program. In this interview, she shares about her experience transferring from Santa Fe College to Warrington.
Q: Tell us about your time at Santa Fe College.
Kosuch: “Truthfully, I had a great experience at Santa Fe College. I was a student there for one year, from July 2019 to August 2020. Every professor I encountered was great and I felt that they were committed to my success. The class sizes were small, so the professors took the time to get to know the students.”
Q: Why did you decide to transfer to the Warrington College of Business?
Kosuch: “Born into a Gator family, UF was always my goal. As a creative and business-minded individual, I found my passion for marketing in high school. I chose to pursue a general business degree with a minor and specialization in mass communications because I knew I’d want to continue at Warrington and complete my master’s in marketing!”
Q: Tell us about your experience at Warrington.
Kosuch: “My time at Warrington has been amazing. There are so many opportunities to get involved in student organizations, and you are sure to meet new friends in your classes or even while walking through the Warrington area. I am so grateful for the academic advisors because they are always willing to squeeze students in for a last-minute advising appointment when they are freaking out about class registration.
“I knew when I transferred from Santa Fe that I wanted to pursue my master’s in the Combined Degree program, and right off the bat I had a great support system to help me get started! Now that I am close to graduation, I have been working with the Business Career Services team. They have been helpful with planning how to secure a post-graduation job, as well as assisting with my resume and other application and interview tips.”
Q: Tell us about your career goals.
Kosuch: “My goal for after graduation is to move to New York City and work in the marketing department in the fashion or cosmetics industry. I was able to secure a Summer 2022 internship with Make Up For Ever in New York City because of the guidance I received from the Business Career Services team and from my Transfer Success professor and TA. With this internship under my belt and UF backing me, I am so excited to see where I end up after graduation!”
Q: What advice would you give a student thinking of transferring into Warrington?
Kosuch: “My biggest piece of advice that I would give to transfer students coming into Warrington is: take advantage of every opportunity and meet as many people as possible. One of the first classes you will take is a Transfer Success class: pay attention! You will learn so many important skills that you will absolutely use as you move down your career path, including how to do interviews, write standout resumes and so much more.”
Q: Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
Kosuch: “A fun fact about me is that I collect sneakers! My favorite sneakers are Jordan 4s, specifically the Jordan 4 Black Cats.”
