U.S. News & World Report: Best Business Schools 2006

The University of Florida was named #42 among the best graduate programs in business in the April 4 issue of U.S.News & World Report magazine. The Florida MBA appears in the top tier of the list – the Top 50 – of recognized MBA programs around the world. Among public schools, Florida is ranked #22.

The Florida MBA is also one of only a few select programs that were ranked among the Top 30 in four or more of the core specialty categories (accounting, finance, management and marketing), based on the peer assessment of our world-class faculty:
• # 12 marketing
• # 19 accounting
• # 21 finance
• # 28 management

Florida is the only new addition (first-time or re-entry) to the U.S.News Top 50 this year, and our 11 spot gain was the second strongest move up in rankings among all Top 50 MBA programs. UF was also only one of six programs in the Top 50 that was more selective in admissions in 2004 than 2003, as we are focused on continuing to push the needle forward, working to maximize the Florida MBA experience and our program’s value. To that end, we are also proud to announce that our Recruiter Assessment score (3.6 out of 5) is up considerably from last year (3.1)

All 391 master’s programs in business accredited by AACSB International-The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business were surveyed (318 responded), of which 189 provided the data needed to calculate rankings based on a weighted average of the quality indicators: Quality assessment, Placement success, Student selectivity, Overall rank, and Specialty rankings.
