CEI forms entrepreneurial partnership with Starter Space

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Two of Gainesville’s authorities on entrepreneurship are joining forces. The Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation (CEI) at the University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business Administration and Starter Space, a Gainesville incubator, have agreed to a formal partnership to help promote entrepreneurship throughout Gainesville’s growing startup community. The parties will combine efforts to facilitate student learning, assist entrepreneurs as they conceptualize and implement their ventures, and encourage students and others to launch their ventures based in Gainesville.

UF summer program for high school students kicks off Sunday

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Warrington College of Business Administration at the University of Florida will host 41 accomplished and highly-motivated high school students during the UF Young Entrepreneurs for Leadership & Sustainability (YELS) summer program. YELS is the only summer program in the United States developed specifically for high school students to learn about entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, leadership and sustainability. Engineering team claims $25,000 in UF Big Idea Business Plan Competition

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Three engineering students whose company developed a portable water purification device that uses ultraviolet light to sterilize water were awarded $25,000 for winning the UF Big Idea Business Plan Competition on Friday. Daniel Blood, Rob Damitz and Erica Gonzaga, co-founders of aqUV, outlasted a field of 140 entrants to claim the grand prize. The event, open to all University of Florida students, was sponsored by the Warrington College of Business Administration’s Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation (CEI).

MSE students hope their big idea leads to big prize

Samantha Rosenbaum and Jarrod Schilling have experienced the pain of losing or almost losing their smartphones. But with that pain, came inspiration. And that inspiration could lead to a substantial payday. CEI launches innovative program to help business-minded disabled veterans

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation (CEI) at the Warrington College of Business Administration is launching a free program to assist disabled veterans succeed in business. The Veterans Entrepreneurship Program (VEP) is designed for veterans who are interested in starting a business or who have an existing business. The program consists of three phases that provides practical training in venture creation and growth, and is accompanied by a support structure for participants as they pursue their ventures.
