Sam (BSBA 2008, JD 2011) and Rachel (BSBA 2010, MHA 2012) are pleased to announce their engagement. Rachel currently serves as the administrator of the Geriatric and Pulmonary Divisions at Montefiore Medical Center. Sam is currently a fourth-year Merger and Acquisitions associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP. The couple resides in New York, and their wedding is planned for November.

Robert (BABA 2000, JD 2003) was profiled in the March 11 issue of the Jacksonville Daily Record. The story detailed his military service with the U.S. Army, his family life and his career as an attorney. Robert is a Partner with the Jacksonville law firm of Thames Markey & Heekin, P.A.

John (BSBA 1974, JD 1977, LLMT 1979) was featured in an April 14 story in The Wall Street Journal about his interesting hobby. John, a Partner in the law firm Scroggin & Company, P.C., in Roswell, Georgia, has a collection of approximately 100,000 mementos of American taxpaying history.

Robert (BSBA 1986, JD 1990), a Shareholder at Trenam Kemker, was appointed to the University of Florida’s Board of Trustees by Governor Rick Scott. Robert joined Trenam Kemker in 1990, and represents clients in all aspects of real estate, distressed property and financing commercial work.

Richard Johnston Jr. (BSBA ’79, JD ’81) | December 2014

Richard (BSBA 1979, JD 1981) is a Partner in the law firm Johnston Champeau, which has offices in Fort Myers and Naples. He may be best known to Gator football fans as “Mr. Orange and Blue” as he led Gator fans in pre-game cheers for 31 consecutive seasons. Richard’s last game as the Gators’ on-field cheerleader was Nov. 15 against South Carolina.

Monica (BSBA 2007, JD 2010), an associate attorney in the Charlotte office of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings, was recognized by the Carolinas Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) as its 2014 Individual Member of the Year. The award honors an ABC Carolinas member who has contributed an exceptional level of service to the chapter, which represents the construction industry in North and South Carolina.

Randall (BSBA 1978, JD 1981) and Duane (BSBA 1989), attorneys at Bryant Miller Olive, were both named to the 2014 edition of Florida Super Lawyers. Randall is the Managing Shareholder of the firm’s Orlando office and was recognized for his work in the Bonds and Government Finance practice area. Duane, who practices out of the firm’s Tampa office, co-chairs the firm’s Public Finance practice area and was also recognized for his work in the Bonds and Government Finance practice area.
