Accounting major to join Heavener Hall of Fame

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Nicholas Pinto will be inducted into the Heavener Hall of Fame during the School’s annual awards ceremony at 6 p.m. on April 15 at Emerson Alumni Hall.

The Heavener Hall of Fame is reserved for graduating business or accounting students who have exhibited superior leadership and achievement through their activities and scholarship while members of the Heavener community.

“I’ve never been more honored because I know the sacrifices we all must make to balance involvement and academics,” Pinto said. “I’m among many other gifted and motivated students in my graduating class, and I wish they could all be honored in the same way.  I am filled with gratitude for this award.”

Pinto, who has a 3.77 grade point average, is a senior Accounting major who is jointly pursuing a Master of Accounting degree. He was awarded the Fisher Fellowship, a scholarship bestowed upon the top student in the undergraduate class. As a Fisher Fellowship recipient, Pinto represented the Fisher School of Accounting at the Florida Institute of CPA Accounting Conference (FICPA) where he delivered a technical analysis presentation to accounting professionals.

An accomplished student leader, Pinto is a graduate, mentor and Advisory Board member of the Florida Leadership Academy. He has served as the President of the Fisher School of Accounting Council and Vice President of Professional Development for the Warrington Diplomats. He has also been the head Teaching Assistant for the Fisher School’s Introduction to Financial Accounting course for the past three semesters.

Pinto has accepted a position with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) where he will be an Audit Associate in the firm’s Atlanta office.
