Gevelyn McCaskill

McCaskill (MBA 1991) was recently appointed as the Peabody Essex Museum’s (PEM) next Chief Financial Officer (CFO). McCaskill, who currently serves as PEM’s Director of Financial Planning and Business Intelligence, has held key leadership roles in the museum’s Finance department since 2016 and has more than 25 years of experience in the nonprofit finance sector. McCaskill assumes her new role concurrent with the retirement of PEM’s current CFO, Nathalie Apchin, on March 31, 2024.

McCaskill is skilled in strategic financial planning and analysis and adept at optimizing resources, improving processes and incorporating business intelligence solutions that inform PEM’s financial decisions. As an effective team leader, she has fostered strong working relationships with individuals across the organization and worked closely in concert with Apchin, both at PEM and as colleagues at their previous employer, Harvard Medical School.

Prior to joining PEM, McCaskill served as Harvard Medical School’s Senior Financial Analyst, Brandeis University’s Associate Director of Finance and Administration and Harvard University’s Manager of Finance. McCaskill earned her MBA from the University of Florida and her BA in History from Duke University. She is a former enrolled agent of the U.S. Treasury Department and a current member of the National Black MBA Association and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
