Cainas (DBA 2017) is among the recipients of the American Accounting Association/J. Michael and Mary Anne Cook/Deloitte Foundation Prize, which is the foremost recognition of an individual who consistently demonstrates the attributes of a superior teacher in the discipline of accounting. Cainas is the undergraduate award recipient.
Cainas is Professor of Instruction at the Lynn Pippenger School of Accountancy and serves as the Associate Dean for Financial Management at the University of South Florida. She currently teaches large, mass lectures classes for introductory financial and managerial accounting, but has also taught upper-level and graduate accounting courses.
During her teaching career, Cainas has taught and mentored over 25,000 business students and has received numerous teaching awards at the college, university, state and national level. She has also received the Beta Alpha Psi Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award in 2013 and 2023. Cainas has published articles and teaching cases in journals such as Issues in Accounting Education, Journal of Emerging Technologies, and Strategic Finance.
