Two people stand inside of an ice cream food truck for Fragaria New Zealand Ice Cream. Pichardo (MBA 2021) and Alvarado (MBA 2021) are founders of Fragaria, New Zealand-style ice cream. The plant-based, unique dessert is made by blending premium vanilla ice cream with real fruit, using a special machine that produces an airy and velvety texture.

While pursuing their MBAs during the pandemic, Pichardo and Alvarado learned to make ice cream. After moving to Seattle after graduation, they discovered a special market for the treat. Later returning to Florida, their business idea came to life 10 months ago as Fragaria. 

They were recently featured in the Orlando Sentinel to rave reviews by the newspaper’s food and dining reporter.
