MSM Student Spotlight: YuHan Su

Su is completing the Master of Science in Management (MSM) program, earning her second master’s degree after a strong foundation in psychology. She plans to pursue a career that integrates psychology and management to help employees find greater fulfillment in their work.

 Q: Tell us about your background.

Su: I come from Kunming, Yunnan Province, China, a city often called the ‘Spring City.’ I earned both my bachelor’s and first master’s degrees in psychology in China. I am currently pursuing the MSM program, where I am about to earn my second master’s degree.

 Q: Why did you decide to pursue your MSM degree?

Su: First, I really like Florida. Second, I believe the MS Management program at UF provides an excellent opportunity to expand my knowledge in management within a short period while connecting with classmates and professors from around the world.

 Q: What are your best memories from the MSM program?

Su: I thoroughly enjoyed Professor Bruce Rich’s Negotiation course. I was pleasantly surprised by my negotiation potential, and every simulation negotiation session was something I looked forward to. These experiences have become some of my most special memories.

Q: What are your plans after graduating from the MSM program?

Su: I plan to pursue a career integrating psychology and management, such as corporate strategy planning. My goal is to help employees find greater happiness and a stronger sense of accomplishment in their work.

Q: Do you have any advice for future MSM students?

Su:To future students, especially international ones, I’d recommend previewing topics related to accounting and economics in advance—it will be very helpful. Also, don’t worry about language barriers and enjoy everything in the UF!

Q: What is something you wish you had known before you started the MSM program?

Su: I wish I had known how interconnected and practical the courses would be. I would have spent more time preparing for hands-on projects, which are an important part of the program.

Q: What is one cool fact about you?

Su: ​​I love traveling. My trips to California’s Highway 1, Yellowstone National Park, and the Grand Canyon have been some of the most unforgettable parts of my time in the U.S.
