US News ranks Fisher School undergraduate program seventh among U.S. publics

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Fisher School of Accounting ranked seventh among all U.S. public undergraduate accounting programs in U.S. News & World Report’s “2015 Best Colleges” edition.

Overall, the Fisher School ranked 12th among all U.S. undergraduate accounting programs.

“The undergraduate accounting program provides a very strong foundation for our students,” said Dr. Gary McGill, J. Roy Duggan Professor and Director of the Fisher School. “Our quality students, dedicated faculty and staff, and strong alumni support make the Fisher School a special place, and I’m pleased to see that US News captured our distinctive features.”

Of the 36 accounting programs ranked by U.S. News, the Fisher School’s undergraduate program was the only one from the state of Florida that was recognized.

The Fisher School’s recognition in U.S. News and World Report comes less than two weeks after its undergraduate program ranked eighth among U.S. publics in Public Accounting Report’s (PAR) 33rd Annual Survey of Accounting Professors. The Fisher School was further commended by PAR as its undergraduate program ranked third among U.S. public programs with 16 to 21 full-time faculty.
