Graduate Exchange Student Spotlight: Nuttaporn Boonsomchuea
Nuttaporn Boonsomchuea is an exchange student from Thailand, here to experience graduate business programs in the United States. She shares about fun things to do in Thailand and why she chose to study abroad at the University of Florida.
Q: Tell us about your background and your home country.
I am an exchange student from Thailand, currently studying in the Master of Business Administration program at Chulalongkorn University. I graduated with an undergraduate degree in science, majoring in Chemistry, but I am interested in business, so after working for three years I decided to join the MBA program.
Thailand is the most popular travel destination in South-East Asia. We have so many kinds of travel destinations, such as islands, cities and more. The most popular event in Thailand is the Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan Island. It is super fun! I’d recommend that everyone should try that event once in their lives.
Q: Why did you choose to come to the University of Florida?
I chose to participate in the exchange program at UF because the business school here is a great school. Also, Florida has weather similar to Thailand – sunny and rainy. It’s quite easy to adapt myself to the environment here, even though this is my first time studying abroad.
Q: What do you miss the most about your home country?
Currently, I really miss Thai street food. Thailand has so many kinds of delicious foods that I can find on every corner of the street, but I haven’t been able to find those dishes here and they are difficult to cook by myself.
Q: One cool thing about you!
I can cook Thai food, but still have no idea if it is delicious or just edible.
