Crystal Chiang

Master of Science in Management helped this alumna’s career in human resources

Crystal Chiang completed her Master of Science in Management (MSM) in 2016. Now, she serves at JumpCloud as a People Operations Generalist. Read on to see how an MSM helped her career in HR.

Q: Please tell us your background.

Chiang: “I graduated from UF with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2015 and graduated with a Master of Science in Management in 2016. I grew up in Miami and moved to Gainesville to attend UF, stayed in Gainesville for a few years after graduation. I now live in Denver!”

Q: What did you like the most at Warrington?

Chiang: “The opportunity to be exposed to different classes and work with a large group of different classmates, all with different backgrounds and interests.”

Q: Tell us about your job search and first job after you graduated.

Chiang: “I found my first job through the career fair. I started my HR career with Cintas Corporation as an HR Trainee and was later promoted to HR Representative, working in Gainesville, Florida.”

Chiang: “I am currently working and living in Denver, Colorado. I worked in the real estate industry when I moved over here for 1.5 years as an HR Generalist and recently moved over to work at JumpCloud as a People Operations Generalist.”

Q: What’s your advice to our master’s students?

Chiang: “Enjoy the time that you are still able to spend your day learning while having the ability to balance that with doing anything you want during your free time! Transitioning from school to a full-time job is definitely an adjustment.”

Q: Tell us 3 cool facts about you.

Chiang: “I type 120 WPM. I can’t quite figure out how to whistle. I’m really skilled at binge watching shows on Netflix.”
