Peter Gylfe

Gylfe (BSBA Finance ’09, MSF ’10) was named to Institutional Investor’s 2023 Hedge Fund Rising Stars. Gylfe is one of 10 individuals from around the nation included on the list for his rising prominence in the hedge fund industry.

Gylfe is senior portfolio manager at Millennium Management, where he has built and runs a fundamental long-short equity strategy focused on the industrials and materials sectors with a team of five analysts.

After graduating from the University of Florida, Gylfe spent one year at Citi as an investment banking analyst before getting his first hedge fund job, at multistrategy giant Millennium Management as an analyst in the energy group. Shortly afterward, he moved over to covering industrials and materials, an area he wanted as his specialty, and has covered ever since. After a couple of years at Millennium, Gylfe moved on to Balyasny Asset Management, where he was a senior analyst running a carve-out portfolio focused on industrials and materials with one analyst. He then worked at Hutchin Hill Capital, running a similar portfolio with two analysts.

In 2016, Gylfe left Hutchin Hill to start Bay Street Capital, a long-short market-neutral, factor-neutral fund. He later joined Citadel Global Equities, where he ran a portfolio focused on industrials and materials, before returning to Millennium in his current role.

In 2018, Gylfe was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 in finance list.
