Recent Warrington graduates receive special UF honor
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Three graduates from the Warrington College of Business Administration—Charles Carmakal, Brittany Rawlings and Keith Robinson—received the University of Florida’s Young Alumni Award on Saturday at Emerson Alumni Hall.
The Outstanding Young Alumni Award was established by UF’s Alumni Association to recognize alumni ages 35 or younger who have distinguished themselves in their profession and community.
Brittany Rawlings, Heavener School of Business
Brittany also founded her own fashion line, B. Rawlings Collection, which has been featured in international fashion publications like Vogue and Allure, and worn by Tyra Banks, Giuliana Rancic and Lindsay Lohan.
She has also established her own law practice, The Law Office of Brittany Rawlings, P.A., better known as the Fashion Law House. Brittany splits time among her offices in New York, Miami and Washington, D.C., and counsels some of the fashion industry’s most popular figures, including Gilt Groupe’s Warehouse Events; designer Korina Emmerich and Layana Aguilar—both Project Runway finalists; New York Fashion Week designer, Charles Elliott Harbison; and supermodel Nina Agdal.
Keith Robinson, Fisher School of Accounting
Keith, who also teaches ninth grade Mathematics at People’s Prep, has had a successful tenure as an educator in the Tri-State area. He taught World History at Newark’s Rise Academy Charter School, and Mathematics at I.S. 195 Roberto Clemente Middle School in Harlem. In addition, he has worked extensively to develop after-school programs in Harlem.
In 2013, Keith was awarded the TNTP $25,000 Fishman Prize for Superlative Classroom Practice, which is given annually to exceptionally effective teachers who work in high-poverty public schools. Keith is committed to supporting students and their families in the hard work necessary to be successful in applying to and attending college.
Charles Carmakal, Hough Graduate School of Business
Charles leads a team of security professionals that investigates and tracks organized criminals and hackers that are responsible for some of the largest and most prominent security breaches. He has provided security guidance and coaching to CEOs, CFOs and board members of dozens of Fortune 500 companies. Charles has been interviewed by “60 Minutes”, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Reuters, and Fox News.
Prior to joining Mandiant, Charles led PwC’s security consulting business in Sydney, Australia. He helped PwC establish a multi-million dollar security consulting business, while being one of the youngest directors at the firm.
