Heavener students inducted into Warrington Hall of Fame

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Hannah Wampole and Mikaela Moore were inducted into the Warrington College of Business Administration Hall of Fame during the Heavener School of Business Awards on April 10 at the Hilton University of Florida Conference Center.

Wampole, a senior Marketing major with minors in Entrepreneurship and Leadership, has held extensive leadership positions within the School. She has served as a Career and Academic Peer Mentor, a First-Year Florida Peer Leader and later President of the Warrington Diplomats, a Florida Leadership Academy mentor and member of the organization’s Advisory Board and a Teaching Assistant for Principles of Marketing.

Wampole’s leadership activities extend outside the School as well. She has served as Cabinet Director of Career Development in Student Government, held leadership positions within her sorority and tutors at-risk elementary school children in East Gainesville. She has also been involved with UF’s Dance Marathon as Marketing Captain.

Wampole is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, an honors organization whose membership consists of the top 10 percent of undergraduate business and accounting majors. She is also a member of the Order of Omega, a Greek Honor Society for student leaders, and received the honor of Anderson Scholar of Highest Distinction which is given to students who maintain a 4.0 grade-point-average at UF for two years with a minimum 12-hour course load each semester.

Moore, a senior Business Administration and Political Science major with minors in East Asian Literature and Language and Public Leadership, has served as a delegate at five international case competitions, including those in Maastricht, The Netherlands, and Singapore. She has also served as a UF delegate at the Business Today Regional Conference in Houston, the National Conference on Student Leadership in Atlanta and the Florida Student Education Policy Conference in Orlando. She has also dedicated her time to the community as a participant in Florida Alternative Breaks as an Immigration Law participant.

Moore has studied abroad twice in China at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and at Tsinghua University. Upon graduation, Moore will join the 2012 Teach for America Corps as a social-studies teacher in Miami-Dade County, and will then return to Google as an Account Manager with Online Sales.

Kira Warnock, a senior Accounting major with a minor in Music Performance, was awarded the Delta Sigma Pi Scholarship, which is given to the student with the highest cumulative academic average in Business Administration or Economics. Warnock is a member of the Beta Alpha Psi and Beta Gamma Sigma honor societies, has served as a Teaching Assistant at the School, a tutor for the Athletic Association, and has been chairperson for the Women in Accounting Symposium. She was the recipient of the 2011-2012 Full Fisher Fellowship, and will be starting her career with KPMG in Tampa this fall.

Elliott Grasso was named Freshman of the Year. Grasso, a Finance major, held five leadership positions at UF this past year, was a member of Warrington Welcome and was chosen as the top-ranked Florida Leadership Academy candidate from this year’s applicant pool.

Jackie Campuzano, a senior Information Systems major, was awarded the Distinction in Leadership Service. Campuzano has served as a Career & Academic Peer Mentor on the Finance and Information Systems Team, as a member of the Warrington Diplomats and is a graduate, mentor and advisory board member of Florida Leadership Academy. She has served in various leadership roles in the Florida Phi Beta Lambda District II, including State Vice President, President and Secretary. She represented the School at the APEX Global 2011 Case Competition in Singapore, and the Altria Indiana University National Team Selling Case Competition.
