Larry W. Davis Sr. | BA ‘57 | 1935-2022 | Davis, of Umatilla, Florida, passed on September 10. Once he completed his education at UF, Davis went on to become the director of several businesses across North Carolina and Florida, including the Winter Haven Hospital Foundation, the Montreat Conference Center Fund and Habitat for Humanity. He remained a lifelong Gator fan and enjoyed time with his wife and three children.
Douglas H. Grow | BSBA ‘63 | 1936-2022 | Grow, of Lititz, Pennsylvania, passed on September 21. He served in the U.S. Army as a Military Intelligence Coordinator prior to, and while attending, UF. After obtaining his degree, Grow worked with Sears Roebuck for 30 years before retiring as the District Manager for the Philadelphia region. He enjoyed time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and was an accomplished outdoorsman, travelling across the US, Canada, Ireland and Africa.
William “Bill” F. Bahl | BA ‘72 | 1951-2022 | Bahl, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed on September 1. Since his childhood, Bahl’s ambition set him apart. After graduating from UF, Bahl went on to earn a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Michigan. His education and ambition enabled him to pursue an entrepreneurial path. He founded Bahl & Gaynor, one of the largest independent registered investment managers in the country. Bahl was also active in his community and dedicated to his family, never missing a family dinner or sporting event. He leaves behind a legacy of entrepreneurship, community impact and family.
Thomas W. Gingerich | BSBA ‘73 | 1945-2022 | Gingerich, of Mobile, Alabama, passed on September 19. He graduated from UF with an education in business administration and embarked on a 30-year career in Internal Audit with Southland Corporation (7-Eleven). Davis enjoyed traveling with his wife and daughters and gave all his free time to his grandchildren. A master of storytelling, Gingerich also wrote and published five books under his pen name, Wendell Thomas.
Gene J. Heidt | BSBA ‘74 | 1951-2022 | Heidt, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed on September 17. After finishing his education at UF, Heidt spent many years working at Central DuPage Hospital. In his free time, he valued being with his friends and family and contributing to his local community.
Theodore Selby | MBA ‘79 | 1949-2022 | Selby, of Fernandina Beach, Florida, passed on September 10. Upon graduating from UF, Selby joined the Navy and served for 22 years. After retiring from the military, he worked as the OMB Director and County Manager for Nassau County. He was known as a businessman and a family man, cheering on his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their various activities.
Beth J. Kendrick | BSAc ’04 | 1981-2022 | Kendrick, of Arlington, Virginia, passed on September 24. She called South Florida home for many years, graduating Summa Cum Laude from UF and holding a successful career in the accounting industry. Kendrick loved her dog, Taco, her family, the Florida Gators and finding ways to help everyone she met.
