Banks is a 30-year veteran in the commercial real estate industry. Much of his career has been spent as the CEO of Front Street Commercial Real Estate Group which he founded in 2002 while living in South Florida. Banks relocated to Gainesville in 2004, and in 2010 shifted the focus of the firm to serve third-party clients and perform brokerage and property management services. Within nine years, he led the firm’s growth to a team of over 30 professionals doing business in six North Florida markets.
During this time, he had the opportunity to work with Concept Companies on several key projects in the Innovation District, where Concept recently was named co-master developer, and the Progress District, a robust life-science cluster located in Alachua, Florida. In 2019 Front Street was acquired by Avison Young, a global real estate services firm, where Banks served as Principal and Managing Director.
Before founding Front Street, Banks was with Stiles Corporation, a multi-state, vertically integrated, commercial real estate development firm, based in Fort Lauderdale where he served as the Director of Finance and Dispositions. Prior to Stiles, Banks served as an associate director at GE Capital Real Estate where he focused on loan originations in markets throughout Florida and the Southeast.
In 2020, Banks was named the Bergstrom Center Alumnus of the Year.
