US News ranks UF MBA’s Internet Program No. 4 in nation
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – UF MBA at the Hough Graduate School of Business’s Internet Program ranked No. 4 in the country in U.S. News & World Report’s “2015 Best Online MBA Programs” released Wednesday.
UF MBA finished in the top 2 percent of the 196 online MBA programs US News evaluated. Scores were based on five weighted categories: Student Engagement (28 percent), Admissions Selectivity (25%), Peer Reputation (25%), Faculty Credentials & Training (11%) and Student Services & Technology (11%).
UF MBA was the only program in the state of Florida ranked in the top 30.
“We are pleased to once again be recognized as one of the world’s best online MBA programs,” said Dr. Alex Sevilla, Assistant Dean and Director of UF MBA Programs. “Our Internet MBA program philosophy is simple: Attract a high-caliber group of focused professionals and provide them with a robust, immersive MBA environment that maximizes engagement, learning outcomes and bottom-line results. UF MBA is a global leader in delivering a truly transformational MBA program experience in an online platform.”
US News adjusted its methodology this year placing more weight on Admissions Selectivity—where UF MBA ranked sixth among all programs. US News formulated Admission Selectivity scores based on standardized test scores (GMAT and GRE), work experience, acceptance rate and undergraduate GPA.
UF MBA also placed prominently in Student Engagement (18th overall), which is based on a program’s best practices, graduation rate, class size, one-year retention rates and ability for participants to complete degree in a timely manner.
The 2015 edition marks the first time US News has published rankings based solely on distance education MBA programs. Previously, US News had included non-MBA online business degrees in these rankings.
The Hough Graduate School of Business has been one of the nation’s leaders in online graduate education, and was one of the first schools to have an accredited online MBA program. UF MBA offers nine dynamic programs, including a 1-Year Internet and 2-Year Internet option. The 1-Year option is a 16-month accelerated program for business degree majors who graduated within the last seven years. The 2-Year option is a 27-month program open to any undergraduate degree major.
In addition to US News’s recognition, UF MBA’s Internet Program ranked No. 4 in the world and No. 1 among U.S. public programs in the Financial Times Online MBA 2014 Rankings. UF MBA ranked first in Salary Increase, Aims Achieved, Program Delivery and Online Interaction in those rankings.
