US News: UF MBA Online Program No. 5 in the nation

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – UF MBA at the Hough Graduate School of Business ranked fifth in the nation in U.S. News & World Report’s “2017 Best Online MBA Programs” rankings released Tuesday.

UF MBA’s Online Program, No. 4 among U.S. publics, scored 89 out of a possible 100 points. It marks the fifth consecutive year UF MBA finished in the top five in this ranking.

“We’re thrilled to again be recognized as one of the nation’s top online MBA programs,” said John Gresley, Assistant Dean and Director of UF MBA Programs. “Our notable results would be impossible without our talented faculty, innovative instructional designers and accessible IT professionals or the dedicated student affairs and career services staff. This recognition reaffirms our efforts and strengthens our commitment to providing a flexible distance learning platform, and an exceptional co-curricular program which offers our outstanding students the knowledge and tools to be leaders in their organizations and communities.”

U.S. News sent statistical questionnaires to the 255 business schools offering online MBAs, and based its rankings on five weighted categories: Student Engagement (28 percent), Admissions Selectivity (25%), Peer Reputation (25%), Faculty Credentials & Training (11%) and Student Services & Technology (11%).

UF MBA scored more than 80 points (out of 100) in three of the four categories based on program data. UF MBA scored 89 points in Admissions Selectivity, 83 points in Student Engagement, and 82 points in Faculty Credentials and Training.

In Admissions Selectivity, which measures students’ standardized test scores (GMAT/GRE), work experience, undergraduate GPA, and a program’s acceptance rate, UF MBA ranked No. 5 in the nation, and No. 3 among U.S. public business schools.

“A critical element of an MBA experience is learning from and being motivated by other students,” Gresley said. “We’re committed to creating collaborative learning environments with high-quality students across all our program platforms.”

UF MBA has been routinely recognized as having one of the world’s best online programs. The Financial Times ranked UF MBA No. 3 in the world and No. 1 in the U.S. in its “Online MBA 2016” rankings, and UF MBA ranked No. 5 in the nation in The Princeton Review/Entrepreneur Magazine’s 2016 online MBA rankings.

The Hough Graduate School of Business has been one of the nation’s leaders in online graduate education, and was one of the first schools to have an accredited online MBA program. UF MBA offers nine dynamic programs, including a 1-Year Online and 2-Year Online option. The 1-Year option is a 16-month accelerated program for business degree majors who graduated within the last seven years. The 2-Year option is a 27-month program open to any undergraduate degree major.
