MBA students interning at leading international companies
Many MBA students at the University of Florida have taken advantage of their summers and landed internships across global and international companies. These interns worked across sales, marketing, business and finance departments to gain real-world experience in their fields. Beyond enhancing their resumes, these internships have allowed the students to expand their professional networks and set them up for success in their post-graduate careers.
Read about several of the internships our MBA students are completing, their internship goals and what their experience has taught them professionally.

Internship Goal: “First off, my top priority of this summer is getting a full-time offer here at Michelin working in Mergers & Acquisitions, or some subsequent financial role like a corporate controller or credit opportunity. Beyond that, I have utilized my time meeting people on the credit and treasury team, networking with financial controllers, and making meaningful connections with people throughout finance and corporate strategy. Another goal of mine has been to sharpen my financial statement analysis, competitive intelligence research, analytical, and valuation skills for my future career. I’ve gotten the opportunity to perform several target companies valuations and do competitive multi-brand strategy benchmarking research – so that has sharpened my skillset significantly, but over the next month I hope to get even more experience in these facets. Lastly, I am delivering a capstone project that will change the multi-brand strategy of Michelin and their subsequent brands, BFGoodrich & Uniroyal, and I hope to enact my recommended strategies to change the strategic outlook of this company before my time is done at Michelin for this summer.”
What I’ve learned from my internship: “I have really learned the importance of keeping an open mind on future career avenues. Michelin has some incredible opportunities on avenues like Credit and Treasury that I had never really considered previously. It’s important to not block yourself off from certain career paths or from networking with certain people in different career avenues from you, because you truly never know how your career will shape out down the road. On top of that, I have learned the importance of bringing your best foot forward, whether that is an elevator pitch or meeting that you think is more of just a simple ‘coffee chat’. The first impressions you give off truly matter and resonate with people, so it’s incredibly important that you always bring your best to the table with every interaction you have. There was a time a couple weeks ago that I was having a conversation with the CFO of Michelin, and I didn’t even realize it. You just never know how important even the smallest interaction can be for your career.”

Internship Goal: “Develop a robust understanding of corporate strategy and build useful financial models for the team at FIS. The fintech industry is fast paced; it has a lot of opportunities to make highly impactful strategic finance decisions in an environment constantly changing through M&A and new product development. I’m also trying to get out and golf with many of my colleagues in Jacksonville!”
What I’ve learned from my internship: “I’m incredibly fortunate to be on a great team at FIS where I’ve learned a lot specific to balance sheet and free cash flow forecasting. I’ve had the chance to work with colleagues across all areas of finance to better understand the drivers and nuances of accounts that impact the firm’s cash flow, resulting in improved forecasts and better visibility of risks and opportunities.”

Internship Goal: “My goal for this internship is to learn as much as I can about the JPMorganChase! The company is so big and there are a ton of different lines of business and functions to explore.”
What I’ve learned from my internship: “I have learned about many of the lines of business within Consumer and Community banking and even learned a little about LLM development. I have also gained first hand experience with product management!”
