MS Marketing Student Spotlight: Grace Field
Grace Field (BSBA ‘24, MS Marketing ‘25) completed her master’s degree last summer. She is currently a Brand Communications Intern at the National Basketball Players Association in New York City as she builds a career in sports and entertainment.
Field: “My name is Grace Field, and I recently graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and a Master of Science in Marketing. During my four years at UF, I was a member of the Delta Phi Epsilon sorority, and I was also a part of numerous clubs and organizations such as the Heavener Leadership Challenge and the American Marketing Association. I grew up in South Florida, so naturally I have always been a Gator fan. I’m very passionate about the sports and entertainment industries, and I am eager to build a successful career in this field by creating authentic connections between organizations and their audiences. Over the years, I’ve gained experience across brand marketing, communications, partnerships and content creation through internships with organizations such as the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA), Ramy Brook and Carma Connected.”
Q: What was your undergraduate major, and why the MSMAR program?
Field: “As an undergraduate student at UF, I majored in Marketing and minored in Public Relations. I chose the MSMAR combined degree program because I wanted to take a deeper dive into marketing analytics, customer relationship management and advanced strategy. The program gave me the opportunity to merge the creative side of marketing with data-driven decision-making, which is essential in today’s industry.”
Q: What is the best thing you like about the MSMAR program, and how has the program helped you professionally?
Field: “The best part of the MSMAR program is its balance between real-world application and academic rigor. From hands-on research projects and case analyses, to learning frameworks that I can directly apply in internships and professional settings, the program constantly pushed me to think like a marketer and a strategist. Professionally, it has strengthened my ability to communicate effectively, craft insights and present actionable strategies—skills I’ve brought into my work at the NBPA and beyond.”
Q: What are your plans now that you have graduated?
Field: “I am currently a Brand Communications Intern at the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) in New York City. In this role, I have supported NBA player-centered storytelling campaigns, managed social media and content strategy and collaborated with partners and media outlets to expand the union’s brand presence beyond the court. I plan to continue building my career in sports and entertainment marketing, focusing on brand partnerships and storytelling. My goal is to help athletes, teams and brands create meaningful connections with fans while innovating in areas like digital content, fashion and lifestyle branding.”
Field: “If you’re considering the MSMAR program, take advantage of the resources and relationships it offers. Lean into both the analytical and creative sides of marketing—it will make you more versatile and confident. Also, don’t be afraid to bring your passions into your work! The program gives you the tools to tailor your projects and career path toward what excites you most.”
Q: Tell us a cool fact about yourself.
Field: “One cool fact about me is that right after graduation, I got my own dog who is now TikTok famous (@captainxcrew)! His name is Crew, and he is a red English Cocker Spaniel. He is of course the biggest doggy gator fan around!”
