QS ranks Warrington’s Master of Science in Finance the No. 6 program in the United States
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The William R. Hough Master of Science in Finance (MSF) program was named among the best master’s programs in finance on QS’ 2021 Master’s in Finance Rankings released Wednesday.
Among the 62 programs ranked in the U.S., the University of Florida’s MSF program was named No. 6. The UF MSF program was also named the No. 4 program among public schools in the U.S., following the University of California – Berkeley, the University of California – Los Angeles and the University of Texas – Austin.
Among global master’s degree programs in finance, the UF MSF program was named the No. 30 program, besting similar finance master’s degree programs at Georgia Tech, the University of Illinois and the University of Miami.
“The University of Florida’s MSF program prides itself in assisting the strong freshmen and sophomores accepted to UF in learning about finance careers, then providing excellent graduate level instruction in the junior and senior years, and finally, with the support of alumni, providing internships with the firms they will return to upon graduation,” said Kelly Herring, Director of the William R. Hough Master of Science in Finance. “As a result of this process, the program has nearly 100% placement at graduation with many of the top financial institutions in the country. It is great to see the program’s success recognized by the QS Rankings.”
QS determines its Global Business Master’s Degree Rankings from five key data points: employability (30 percent), alumni outcomes (20 percent), value for money (20 percent), thought leadership (20 percent), and class and faculty diversity (10 percent). The MSF program ranked in the top 10 in the following categories among U.S. programs:
- Alumni outcomes – No. 4 among publics with 90.2 points
- Thought leadership – No. 5 among publics with 60.6 points
- Value for money – No. 6 among publics with 85.9 points
- Employability – No. 6 among publics with 48.8 points
The Master of Science in Finance program was also named among the best programs by U.S. News & World Report and Eduniversal. The UF MSF program is the No. 9 program among publics, according to U.S. News & World Report and the No. 10 program among publics, according to Eduniversal.
