GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Yixuan Li, assistant professor of management at the University of Florida Warrington College of Business, is a recipient of this year’s Excellence Award for Assistant Professors.

Each year, the University of Florida recognizes 10 assistant professors across the university’s various colleges for their excellence in research and academic contribution. With the award comes an allocation of $5,000 in support of the faculty member’s research, which may be used for travel, equipment, books, graduate student stipends and other research-related expenses.

“I am delighted to receive this award and view it as a recognition of my work,” Li said. “It encourages me to continue pursuing excellence, innovating, and striving for further advancements in my area of expertise. Li’s research delves into the human resource side of management, asking questions about how to cultivate innovative and inclusive workplace environments. Her current research projects focus on understanding human resource practices that improve organizations’ innovative capacities and employees’ inclusion experiences.

“My work consistently explores workplace diversity and innovation issues from different perspectives, seeking to advance the literature in a systematic and meaningful way,” Li explained. “My goal is to have a series of studies building upon each other to create a robust body of knowledge that supports scholarly development in my area.”

Numerous journal publications boast the impact of Li’s research and its relevance to critical topics in management. She joins Martin L. Schaffel Professor Klodiana Lanaj and PricewaterhouseCoopers ISOM Professor Liangfei Qiu, who were awarded in 2016 and 2018, respectively, in Warrington faculty who have received the university’s award for excellence.
