Crystal Chiang

Master of Science in Management helped expand this alumna’s career opportunities

Making the decision to remain at the University of Florida to complete her Master of Science in Management at the Warrington College of Business was a simple one for Crystal Chiang (BS ’15, MSM ’16).

“I wanted to be a Double Gator,” she said.

With a degree in psychology, Chiang was looking for a program that would build upon her undergraduate knowledge and give her new skills to bring to the job market.

“Throughout the [MSM] program, I realized that I enjoyed human resources,” she said. “It paired my two degrees perfectly.”

Thanks to her education from UF, the Miami native was able to land a role in human resources at Cintas, an industry leader in supplying corporate identity uniform programs, providing entrance and logo mats, restroom supplies, promotional products, first aid, safety, fire protection products and services, and industrial carpet and tile cleaning. Now in her third year as an HR representative, Chiang works with employee-partners at Cintas and helps recruit other UF students to the company.

“I handle all employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, campus relations, and more,” she said.

Her favorite part of her job, though?

“Recruiting Gators!” she said.

As someone who has benefitted from her experience in the MSM program, Chiang readily recommends the program to others looking to build their business knowledge.

“With the resources that the Hough Graduate School of Business offers, along with insight into what the business world is like, the [MSM] program is designed to help you succeed,” she said.
