Real Estate Executive named Bergstrom Center’s Alumnus of the Year
ORLANDO, Fla. – Cliff Taylor was recognized as the Bergstrom Real Estate Center’s Alumnus of the Year on Friday at the program’s Trends & Strategies Conference hosted at the Hyatt Regency Orlando.
Taylor is the Senior Vice President in the Jacksonville office of CBRE, focusing on retail investment sales as a member of the company’s Investment Properties Group. He focuses on representing sellers and developers of retail centers ranging in size from unanchored strip centers to grocery-anchored and power centers.
“It’s a big honor,” Taylor (MSRE ’03) said. “The doors that opened to me because of this program, I don’t take it lightly. It changed the trajectory of my life, and I’m eternally grateful. It has been an honor to be a part of this journey all along. I look forward to doing this for many more years.”
Although located in Jacksonville, Taylor has systematically expanded his presence into markets throughout the southeast and is now licensed in Florida, Georgia and Alabama. Over the course of his career, he has represented REITs, hedge funds, private equity firms, private syndicators, developers and individual investors.
Since joining CBRE, he has sold more than 125 shopping centers totaling over 10.7 million square feet and valued in excess of $1.46 billion. Taylor is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and serves on the Advisory Board of the University of Florida Bergstrom Real Estate Center. He serves as a mentor for many MSRE students and is currently the Trends & Strategies Conference Committee Chair.
“The Bergstrom Center is an incredible opportunity to network with high-level real estate executives from across the region,” Taylor said. “Additionally, interacting with the students and mentoring them allows advisory board members to give back and help the next generation get started in the business that we all love. The center certainly changed the trajectory of my life, and I hope to play a role in helping someone else along the way.”
In addition to holding a Master of Science in Real Estate from the University of Florida, he has also completed professional education courses at both The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Individuals are honored as Alumnus of the Year if they attended the University of Florida and have been committed to the missions of the Bergstrom Center.
