He is also a licensed real estate broker.

“I am very honored and humbled particularly given the quality of the program and the quality of the alumni [at UF],” Woodward said.

He has been in the real estate industry for more than 30 years. Woodward has been with Highwoods since 2006 and was formerly with Trammell Crow Company as Senior Vice President. There, he was responsible for the oversight of development activities in Central Florida.

Woodward received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from UF in 1982, his MBA from UF in 1985 and a master’s degree focused on real estate development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Dan Woodward speaks to students as part of the Alfred A. Ring Distinguished Speaker Series.

“What makes [the Bergstrom Center] unique is the access students get to people in the industry and Advisory Board members,” Woodward said. “[Advisory Board members] get a lot of emails from students in programs across the country, but when we get one from UF students, it’s special. Not only do they have staff members inside of the University to help them out, but they also have Advisory Board members that are looking out for them.”

Woodward will join 13 other individuals that have also been named Alumnus of the Year. The Bergstrom Center’s Alumnus of the Year award is given to a UF graduate who has made an impactful and sustained contribution to Real Estate education at the University of Florida. All recipients are friends of the Center who have gone above and beyond to grow the presence of UF’s Real Estate program. Read more about the Bergstrom Center Alumnus of the Year.
