Camera accessory earns top honor at Big Idea Competition

Band.It, an accessory made to protect and provide grip on camera lenses, won first place at the 2017 Big Idea Gator Business Plan Competition on Friday. The company won the first-place prize of $25,000 and is made up of Christopher Cooper, Domenic Aluise, Elezar Tonev, Maximilian Gazeroglu.

The Big Idea Gator Business Plan Competition, which is presented by the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center, encourages students to create growth-oriented business models. The Center plays an important role in mentoring and resourcing student teams throughout the process.

Thirteen of the final 16 teams in the finals of the competition had at least one Warrington student, including second place Phlex ($10,000), third place Scubotics ($5,000) and fourth place Revolt ($1,000).
