Fisher student selected for prestigious accounting program

Amy Scheb was chosen for the Financial Accounting Standards Board’s Postgraduate Technical Assistant Program. This is the second year in a row that a student from the Fisher School’s Master of Accounting program has been chosen to participate.

This prestigious year-long program allows recent accounting program graduates to learn about standard setting and the accounting profession from the ground up.

“I will be assigned to major agenda projects and/or to short-term practice and implementation issues that currently face the FASB,” Scheb said. “Within each, I will be highly involved in the standard-setting process, from research to implementation.”

Scheb hopes to gain more insight on the U.S. accounting standards process through the program. With a strong industry background from her time as a student in the 3/2 Master of Accounting program at the Fisher School, she feels ready for the challenge.

“The Fisher School of Accounting provided me with the accounting foundation that I will need to succeed in this program,” Scheb said. “The school’s professors have constantly challenged me to think critically about issues facing the discipline and the profession.”
