Meredith P. Jones (BABA ’12, MIB ’13) | November 2017

Jones (BABA 2012, MIB 2013) has joined Holland & Knight’s Tampa office as a corporate attorney. She focuses her practice on mergers and acquisitions, securities, corporate governance and general corporate matters. Jones advises clients on all aspects of their business operations, from corporate governance and risk management to financing and growth opportunities. Prior to joining the firm, Jones interned for the in-house legal department of a Fortune 200 company.  

Mark Kaplowitz (BABA ’02) | February 2017

Mark Kaplowitz (BABA 2002) and Rachel Hershkowitz were married Nov. 5 at the Tappan Hill Mansion in Tarrytown, N.Y. Mark is a Vice President, Assistant General Counsel in the mortgage-banking-litigation division of JPMorgan Chase in Brooklyn, New York. Rachel is a special education teacher at Public School 83, the Luis Munoz Rivera School, in Manhattan.

Susan Arduengo (BABA ’05) | February 2017

Susan (BABA 2005) was recently appointed as Co-President of the Orange County Chapter of Ellevate, a global professional women’s network. Susan is an attorney at Friedman Stroffe & Gerard, P.C., based in Irvine, California. She focuses her practice on management-side labor and employment law with an emphasis on representing companies within the beauty industry.

Chad Christianson (BABA ’03) | August 2016

Chad (BABA 2003) was named Chief Executive Officer of Ocala Health, and will oversee the health organization’s two hospitals—Ocala Regional Medical Center and West Marion Community Hospital—its outpatient imaging services, several primary care and specialty physician practices, a Level II trauma center and a newly constructed, free-standing ER that opens later this year in Summerfield. He previously served as Chief Operating Officer of CJW Medical Center in Richmond, Va.

Matt Patton (BABA ’04) | March 2016

Matt (BABA 2004) was recently promoted to Director of Operations at SoDel Concepts, an independent, chef-driven restaurant group located in Bethany Beach, Delaware. In his new position, Matt will oversee two of SoDel’s restaurants and its catering business. He previously served as General Manager at two of SoDel’s restaurants.

Guilherme Costa (BA ’05, BABA ’05) | February 2016

Guilherme (BA 2005, BABA 2005) was recently named General Counsel for the South Dakota Board of Regents. He most recently served as Deputy General Counsel for the University of Idaho where he advised university administrators on all areas of the law, and was the primary attorney assigned to offices that provided student-related services. Guilherme was also previously an Associate at Drinker, Biddle & Reath in Washington D.C.

Kate Ferrer (BABA ’10) | February 2016

Kate (BABA 2010) was promoted to Senior Manager, Marketing & Projects at the Northern Kentucky Tri-County Economic Development Corporation, a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the business climate in Northern Kentucky. She previously served as the organization’s Economic Development Manager. Kate and her husband reside in Erlanger, Kentucky.

Collin (BABA 2004) is the Owner of New Scooters 4 Less, which opened a second location in Gainesville in August. The business first opened in 2004, and is a leading provider of scooters to UF students. The new location is located at 633 NW 13 St.

Mikey Lickstein (BABA ’13, MSE ’14) | November 2015

Mikey’s (BABA 2013, MSE 2014) startup venture, SiliDog, was featured in an Aug. 10 article in the Miami New Times. SiliDog produces silicone dog tags that are more durable and quiet than traditional metal dog tags. SiliDog donates a portion of its proceeds to various charities including the Susan G. Komen Foundation and animal welfare associations among others.

Todd Blake (BABA ’14) | November 2015

Todd (BABA 2014) was recently featured in an Aug. 6 article by People Magazine. Todd co-founded Live For Today, a foundation dedicated to assisting young adults battling cancer. Todd graduated from the College’s Online Business Program with a perfect 4.0 GPA while battling stage 4 Hodgkin lymphoma.
