McCann (BSAc 2000, MAcc 2001), CPA, has owned her own practice, Amber McCann CPA, since 2005, in addition to being a Financial Representative with Modern Woodman of America. She is also the owner of Stage Left Theatre Company, which presents live theatrical productions all year long in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Katherine H. Pierce (MAcc ’79) | July 2019

Pierce (MAcc 1979), CPA, one of two remaining founders of Environmental Consulting & Technology, Inc. (ECT), celebrated the firm’s 30th anniversary last December. Headquartered in Gainesville, ECT has 21 offices in 10 states. Pierce is quite proud of the reputation ECT has established with their many clients and is especially grateful for the talented professionals who work there. Pierce and her partners set up an ESOP for their employees, so the company will continue on as employee-owned.

Lessons in leadership

When Ricky Caplin (BSAc ’05, MAcc ’05) first came to the University of Florida in 2001, he considered his options and his long-term goals of becoming a leader in business as he selected his major. Aubrey J. Lynch (BSAc ’03, MAcc ’03) | February 2019

Lynch (BSAc 2003, MAcc 2003), CPA, was recently hired by the Sarasota law firm Williams Parker as director of fiduciary tax matters. She is formerly a principal with CS&L CPAs. Lynch oversees tax and accounting matters as they relate to the firm’s fiduciary services, facilitating fulfillment of trustees’ duties and responsibilities in coordination with legal counsel. She prepares, files and reviews federal estate tax returns (Form 706), federal gift tax returns (Form 709), and fiduciary income tax returns (Form 1041);

Metzler (BSAc 2017, MAcc 2017) has been promoted to Senior Accountant in James Moore & Company’s Gainesville office. He will be responsible for directing and reviewing the audit work of Associate and Staff Accountants and will participate in various phases of compilation and review engagements, including budgeting and planning. Metzler joined the firm in July 2017.
