Finance alumnus named a Rising Star on Wall Street by Business Insider
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – University of Florida Warrington College of Business finance alumnus Eric Evans was named to Business Insider’s “Rising Stars age 35 and under on Wall Street” list.
Evans, 26, is the head of research and an investment analyst at Weiss Multi-Strategy Advisers, a hedge-fund firm in New York City. The firm manages more than $1.8 billion in assets. He was appointed head of research at age 25.
He received his bachelor’s degree in finance in 2012 from the Warrington College of Business before completing his master’s in finance in 2013 as part of the Master of Science in Finance program. Evans first started at Weiss as an intern in the summer before of his senior year at UF. He also worked as an analyst in leveraged finance at Citi before returning to work at Weiss.
Evans is responsible for figuring out how to make the investment teams work more efficiently and developing tools that help the firm monitor skills and behavioral biases. In his role as an investment analyst, Evans is focused on investing in energy stocks and derivatives. In addition, he manages more than 100 counterparties that work with the Weiss.
