After five years as a project manager, Jean-Carlos “JC” Hernandez (MBA ’24) recognized that he had reached the highest level his current skill set and Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification would allow. In order to further progress as a business leader, he knew he had to familiarize himself with foundational business principles that his technical background didn’t provide. The UF MBA Online program provided Hernandez with a solution.

Since enrolling in the UF MBA Online program, Hernandez has seen an immediate return on the investment in his career.

“As a project manager I routinely interface with accountants and business-unit directors to gather information or make decisions,” he said. “Immediately after completing my accounting, statistics and professional writing courses, I observed notable improvements in my day-to-day professional life. The writing course directly improved the efficiency of my written and verbal communication while the other two courses allowed me to speak knowledgeably about specific concepts regarding expenses and business strategy. I anticipate the practical courses to come in the program will only improve my chances of leading a business unit one day or becoming an effective consultant in my field.”
